Network video recorder components are based on software, capable of capturing video in digital form. This video is usually stored in a storage device, such as a USB drive or disks.
This system does not have a video capture component of its own, but runs on its own device, and often carries an operating system to function. These can be used side by side with video management programs and processors to boost functionality and features.
Compared to digital video recorders, the application of network video recorders usually suits IP surveillance needs. They receive their input from a network, instead of being connected to a camera or video capture device.
Encoding and processing is done at the camera stage, and the feed is streamed to the network video recorder. At this point, users can both, store and view the video feeds.
For high-end systems, there can be more processing done once the video can be streamed to the network, including reducing its size through compression, and adding meta data.
Network Video Recorder allows you to continuously develop your new or existing security system into a scalable solution. The SRN-1000 is capable of recording 100Mbps of video bandwidth, it also supports a wide range of resolutions from VGA to 5 megapixel in H.264, MPEG4 and MJPEG formats.
